How did you attract/address your
audience?
Genre Conventions
Genre Conventions attracts our audience.
There are several genre conventions we have used in our film, our clip focuses
mainly on a clown which are commonly known as innocent and playful but are
represented as dark and twisted in our opening titles. This would attract our
audience (15+) because they're intrigued what happens and perhaps if the clown
had a motive to kill.
Use of Music
Our use of music and sound is sadistic
which links to the Production Company of our film, 'Sadistic Studios'. The
sounds/music in our opening titles attracts our audience as it sets up the
atmosphere of the film and makes them want to know more. Also the sounds we
used, like the clowns laugh, came across as very creepy and sinister, emphasizing
the
horror genre.
Similarities with other movies
A main part of our film is the ending
when the clown pops the balloon, with a knife, near he girls face. In the film
‘IT’, which is focused on a clown, have a scene where the clown pops balloons
in front of people and when he pops them blood squirts all over the persons
face.
I think all of these points contribute to
the Unique Selling Point.
